Let’s be honest, woowoo gets a bad rap.
The word itself often makes people shift in their seat, chuckle awkwardly, or mentally file you under ‘not serious.’
But, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of woowoo.
In fact… I believe it’s where the magic lives.
For so many women I work with, especially those navigating the midlife season, there’s a quiet spiritual hunger. A longing for something deeper, more meaningful. A sense that life is meant to be more than ticking boxes and crossing off to-do lists.
And yet, so many of us hesitate to explore that side of ourselves. We fear judgment. We don’t want to be seen as ‘too much.’ Too airy-fairy. Too out there.
But I’m calling time on that narrative.
Because spiritual is not a dirty word.
For me, spirituality isn’t about religion or rituals, though those have their place if they speak to you. It’s not about perfection, dogma, or incense-filled altars (though, let’s be real, I do love a good candle moment).
It’s about intuition.
It’s about a deep inner knowing.
It’s about that quiet voice inside that often speaks before logic can catch up.
Since doing the deep inner work and reconnecting with myself, that voice has only grown louder. Clearer. Wiser.
My intuition? It’s usually spot on.
It tells me when something’s off.
It nudges me toward what feels true.
It anchors me when my mind wants to spin in a thousand directions.
And the more I listen, the more aligned my life becomes.
So yes, I believe in all things “woowoo.”
And instead of hiding it, I’m owning it. Fully. Fiercely. Unapologetically.
The Truth Is… I’ve Always Been This Way
Long before I was a coach.
Long before I left my legal career.
Long before I understood words like ‘alignment’ or ‘energy’…
I was quietly drawn to the mystical.
I’ve used essential oils for decades. I’ve studied Buddhism, dipped into Hindu philosophy through yoga, and found deep resonance in meditation. Astrology fascinates me. Energy healing and reiki intrigue me. Psychics, tarot, and manifestation? Yes, please.
I’ve read hundreds of spiritual and personal development books over the years. Authors like Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Eckhart Tolle, Oprah, Tony Robbins, Martha Beck, and Dr. Joe Dispenza have shaped my worldview. Their words have guided me through career crossroads, motherhood, burnout, and big life transitions.
And still, until recently, I rarely spoke about that side of me publicly.
Why?
Because I didn’t want to be dismissed.
Because I wanted to be taken seriously.
Because I worked in logic-heavy environments, where evidence was king and intuition was often labelled as unreliable or irrelevant.
But I’ve come to realise it’s not just woowoo.
It’s a belief system that’s grounded in hope, healing, and human potential.
It’s about believing that we are powerful creators of our lives.
That our thoughts, energy, and emotions shape our reality.
That we are more than flesh and bone, we are soul and spirit.
And science? It’s catching up. Neuroplasticity. Quantum physics. The power of mindset. Energy medicine. Epigenetics. All of it is showing us what spiritual teachers have known for centuries: we are far more powerful than we’ve been led to believe.
There’s Room for It All
You don’t have to choose between being grounded and being spiritual.
You don’t have to be ‘all in’ on every practice or modality.
You don’t have to trade in your logic for incense.
You can be smart and soulful.
Professional and intuitive.
Sceptical and open-hearted.
You can explore what resonates with you, and leave the rest.
There is no one way to be spiritual. No one path to awakening. There’s just your path, the one your soul is quietly guiding you toward.
So whether you’re a little spiritual, a little sceptical, or deep in the divine, you are welcome here. There is space for all of you.
Let this be your permission slip to lean into the whispers.
To light the candle.
To pull the oracle card.
To trust the gut feeling.
To follow the synchronicity.
To believe that you are connected to something greater.
Because maybe… just maybe… the very thing you’ve been calling woowoo is actually your inner wisdom trying to come home.
And that, my love, is pure magic.
